2024 EURODEFENSE International meeting

Eurodefense Belgium will host the annual “International Meeting of EURODEFENSE” (IME) on 21-23 May 2024.

23 th May 2024 : Eurodefense yearly Conference 2024

  1. National Presidents’ Council meetings twice a year;
  2. EURODEFENSE’s annual international meeting organised alternately by each association; EURODEFENSE-Belgium will be in charge in 2024.
  3. European Working Groups (EWG) authorised by the Council of Presidents.

All those events produce joint resolutions, summaries, and position papers made available to decision-makers and the public.

Since 2003, EuroDéfense-France has been providing the Secretariat for the international network.

EuroDefense, an association created in France in 1994.

Their aims were to:

  1. Promote a European security and defence identity to the general public;
  2. Concretely contribute to developing a European defence spirit to establish and reinforce links with fellow associations in each European Union country.

An Europe wide network...

EuroDefense is represented in 15 members states of the European Union: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Portugal, Austria, Luxembourg, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Finland and Denmark (order of joining). 

Eurodefense established also a partnership with the Federation of European Defense Technology Associations (EDTA) in 2015.

About EuroDefense - Belgium

EuroDefense - Belgium was created  in 1995, the Founding President is the Senator Armand De Decker †.
The actual President is Admiral (Ret) Jacques Rosiers.

Belgium will hosts the EuroDefense’s annual international meeting in 2024.

  1. That the interest of EU members states is to acquire a capacity for rapid and effective decision making and action in the defence and security fields;
  2. That the magnitude of defence and security challenges facing the EU confirms the necessity to maintain a strategic alliance with the United States;
  3. That close cooperation between European defence industries is vital to create a common technological and industrial base in a context of heightened international competition;
  4. That strengthening Europe’s strategic position requires the combination and unity of all its members’ economic, industrial, and technological resources.
